Heal Your Back is an experiential workshop that combines the healing quality of yoga with Western medical knowledge. It is designed for people living with chronic pain, healing from injury or desiring a different approach to back ﬁtness. Through the practice of yoga, breath awareness, guided imagery and relaxation, you will:
- Learn to build a strong foundation while developing strength that is both stable and resilient.
- Use your pain as a guide as you discover movement in a balanced way.
- Listen to your body’s innate wisdom, responding to it appropriately as you heal.
A fundamental understanding of alignment is taught in terms of anatomy and explored experientially through the practice of basic yoga poses. Poses are taught safely and adapted to the individual’s ability.
Colette Crawford, registered nurse and certiﬁed yoga instructor, brings her own experience and knowledge gained in healing from a severe back injury. Her warmth and compassion create a safe environment for healing.
