This is one of the best workshops you can take to prepare you for birth!    

You may wonder: What will labor be like? How will I cope with the pain? Will I be able to help her the way she needs me to?

The intention of this workshop is to help you connect with each other and feel more confident in your labor and birth through:

  • Breathing, massage, acupressure and relaxation techniques
  • Specific movements that can help your baby be in an optimal position for birth
  • And mother's positions that will help you cope with the pain of labor

You will also learn about the normal process of labor and how the environment affects labor. By the end of the class you both will feel inspired and confident to birth your baby!  You can take this class several times if you want, and at any stage of your pregnancy.

Fee: $60/couple or use 4 classes from your class card.     Register here

Women's  Self Defense and Empowerment 2018

Women's Self Defense and Empowerment 2018

This one-day course trains women in the necessary skills to deal with aggressive individuals, especially when in unfamiliar or uncomfortable locations. This includes traveling abroad or late at night in a parking garage/the street or on the college campus. Women will be given a dialog to use in the typical pre-attack phases of potential physical violence. Often this dialog and postural training will be enough to cause would-be attackers to go the other way. Women will be given extensive drills in simple but effective self-defense, including practicing their skills against a padded, male instructor in mock encounters while being coached by a women instructor. This course assumes that you have no previous training and it will be adjusted to the participant’s fitness level. Women get experience in finding their voice and grounding themselves in their core strength. This course offers life skills that will help women stand their ground in difficult situation at work, in relationships and wherever it’s necessary.

Women’s self-defense and Empowerment is a life changing experience even if you never have to use the physical self-defense skills.

Weekend Baby Gym for Working Parents

A special time to play and bond with your baby.

Be pro-active in your baby’s development! In this fun-filled class you move to the beat of active songs and combine specific age appropriate exercises for your baby's developing body and brain. We use padded gymnastics mats to make it comfortable for you and your baby.

The first three years of life are critical for your baby's developing brain. Skin-to-skin contact, carrying your baby and tummy time on your body stimulates your infant's nervous system and physical and cognitive development. Along with sleeping more soundly your baby will gain more control and coordination of his or her body while increasing agility, flexibility and strength.

We gather out of selfless service to support and encourage the instinctual life of pregnant women who are trying to birth in power against a modern current of fear and an environment of many interventions.

We are grandmothers, mothers, sisters, midwives, aspiring midwives, doulas, nurses, doctors, yoga teachers, psychiatrists, pharmacists, energy and body workers, ministers and anyone else who cares deeply about simple and sacred birth.

We are here to help her:

  • Nourish her body, baby and spirit
  • With support, encouragement and inspiration
  • Bathe in a sense of belonging
  • Trust her intuition
  • Strengthen her confidence in her body – that it has all the right answers
  • Believe in herself – no one has her "knowing"
  • Do it her way
  • Speak her Truth
  • Find a place of peace to make her own decisions 

We do this through sharing a nutritious vegetarian lunch, talking circle, stories, meditation, and more.

Mother's Tea is a place to relax and connect with other parents, caregivers and babies. There is no charge for this event. Bring your babies and questions and learn ways to help you and your family thrive. Pregnant women are welcome! 

Samara White is a licensed acupuncturist who specializes in working with women's health, perinatal issues, and pediatrics at Counterpoint Wellness - www.counterpointwellness.com

Samara will share how Chinese medicine can help with issues such as: digestive issues, allergies, sleep issues, anxiety & stress relief, ADD/ADHD, sinus congestion and headaches, pain & injuries, eczema, and chronic ear infections. It can also be wonderfully supportive during cold and flu season, and to help bolster the body's immune system. 

Samara also likes to teach simple acupressure and massage that parents and kids can do for themselves. In her pediatric treatments, Samara also sees a lot of babies in her practice, as babies respond wonderfully to bodywork and gentle energetic techniques.

The Labor Workshop FULL

This is one of the best workshops you can take to prepare you for birth!    

You may wonder: What will labor be like? How will I cope with the pain? Will I be able to help her the way she needs me to?

The intention of this workshop is to help you connect with each other and feel more confident in your labor and birth through:

  • Breathing, massage, acupressure and relaxation techniques
  • Specific movements that can help your baby be in an optimal position for birth
  • And mother's positions that will help you cope with the pain of labor

You will also learn about the normal process of labor and how the environment affects labor. By the end of the class you both will feel inspired and confident to birth your baby!  You can take this class several times if you want, and at any stage of your pregnancy.

Infant Massage: Whole Body Sequence

Learning the ancient art of infant massage is easy and one of the most rewarding and loving activities you can share with your baby.

You will practice a full body massage sequence based on Ayurveda massage techniques, along with specific baby movement exercises and playful songs that are fun for you and your baby. They help to develop your infant's brain and nervous system, improve visual acuity and stimulate the senses.

Regular massage can help your child sleep better, enhance bonding and relieve gas and symptoms of colic.

Prenatal Yoga with Mama Dance

The first half of the class is prenatal yoga and the second half is Mama Dance.

In this class you will ease common pregnancy discomforts and prepare your body and mind for the birth ahead. Practice breathing and moving your baby down in your labor using soft hip swirls and shimmies along with relaxation and visualization techniques.

You will also learn movements that will help your baby get in the most optimal position for birth, which can help to prevent the occiput posterior presentation of the baby's head that can contribute to back labor.

Rochelle House is a mother of four children and a professional singer. Having given birth four times has allowed her the opportunity to experience many different pain-relieving and centering techniques. By the time I gave birth to my youngest daughter, I had come to realize that singing during the birthing process was an extremely effective method for relieving pain and calming myself.
