Heal Your Back

Heal Your Back is an experiential workshop that combines the healing quality of yoga with Western medical knowledge. It is designed for people living with chronic pain, healing from injury or desiring a different approach to back fitness. Through the practice of yoga, breath awareness, guided imagery and relaxation, you will:

  1. Learn to build a strong foundation while developing strength that is both stable and resilient.
  2. Use your pain as a guide as you discover movement in a balanced way.
  3. Listen to your body’s innate wisdom, responding to it appropriately as you heal.

A fundamental understanding of alignment is taught in terms of anatomy and explored experientially through the practice of basic yoga poses. Poses are taught safely and adapted to the individual’s ability.

Colette Crawford, registered nurse and certified yoga instructor, brings her own experience and knowledge gained in healing from a severe back injury. Her warmth and compassion create a safe environment for healing.

Seattle Holistic Center and Tenzan Aikido are sponsoring Ganapati Homa, a celebratory ritual, for the benefit of peace and harmony as Bruce and Colette complete the sale of the building that they have occupied for 30 years.

Puja/Homa is ritualistic worship of the Divine performed to keep us in harmony with cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and bringing spiritual upliftment. By doing puja, thoughts and vibrations of spiritual forces are created around us. These spiritual forces work to eliminate the negative influences in our life and help surround us with positive energy which can bring us peace of mind, material prosperity and enable us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature.

Please register for this event as it will help us to know how much prasadam (blessed food and sacred ash packets) to prepare.  Register here.

Pujas and Homas are regularly conducted by Pujarini Meera. To know about the Pujas or to have one performed at your place, please contact Meera at meerakeprabhu@hotmail.com.

Infant Massage: Full Body Sequence

Learning the ancient art of infant massage is easy and one of the most rewarding and loving activities you can share with your baby.

You will practice several massage techniques along with specific baby movement exercises and playful songs that are fun for you and your baby, and help to develop your infant’s brain and nervous system, improve visual acuity and stimulate the senses.

Regular massage can help your child sleep better, enhance bonding and relieve gas and symptoms of colic and help with teething pain.

Partners are welcome at no extra charge. Register here.

Dance Yoga

Come flow with us as we combine movements of dance and yoga together. You will move with music and learn a dance/yoga sequence which will be paired with a song towards the end of class.

We will learn how to move to the timing of the music as we flow, forgetting the stress and craziness in our lives as we transform songs into intentions and intentions into movement.

This class is on-going and open to all levels.  Register here.
